EDI Competence Center @ Hornbach The EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) Competence Center in Iasi (Romania) is part of our merchandising organization headquartered in Bornheim (Germany). As a First Level Support EDI, you interact with all kinds of departments within the Hornbach group. As your role entails the interaction with various colleagues from different countries and backgrounds, you should be interested in working in an international environment. We have very different tasks, but one essential objective: we want to bring our EDI Competence Center to the next level of process excellence and efficiency.

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented First Level Support Specialist to join our EDI team in Romania. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing and resolving first-level EDI incidents and support both internal users and external business partners to ensure smooth data exchange processes.

Your assignments 

➢ Provide first-level support for EDI-related incidents and services requested.

➢ Monitor and analyze EDI message flows to identify and resolve issues.

➢ Collaborate closely with second-level support and EDI developers for escalations.

➢ Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and internal departments in both German and English.

➢ Document incidents, solutions and procedures in the ticketing system.

➢ Support the onboarding of new trading partners and the testing of EDI connections.

➢ First point of contact for questions from our suppliers, customers and colleagues on the subject of EDI topics.

Do we fit together?

✓ Completed vocational training or degree in IT, business informatics or a related field.

✓ Basic understanding of EDI processes, standards (e.g. EDIFACT, XML, IDoc) and integration platforms.

✓ Experience with ticketing systems (e.g. Jira) is an advantage.

✓ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

✓ Fluency in both German and English (written and spoken) is required.

✓ Openness to work in an international environment with different backgrounds as well as with varying job and experience levels
